Great Britain Hotel is an old hotel in Siracuse. It was been entirely restored in 2001 and is situated in the very hearth of the isle of Ortigia.
It is a few minutes walk from the monuments that make Ortigia one of the most beautiful places in the world for its unique mixture of ancient Greek ruins and Sicilian baroque.
The hotel overlooks the ancient ruins of Apollo Temple and is located a short distance from Piazza Duomo, where the splendid front of the baroque Cathedral, built on the ancient Athena Temple, can be admired and whose columns are still intact.
Not far from the Cathedral is the church of St. Lucy alla Badia and Senato Palace, a splendid example of late baroque, designed by Vermexio.
In Ortigia you'll spend a wonderful holiday bathing in its sea shores born along the coast or visiting the numerous pubs and bars that enlive the isle during the night. See you soon!
